Alexis Goldstein is a Senior Policy Analyst at Americans for Financial Reform, a nonpartisan coalition of over 200 organizations working for a safe and ethical financial system. Her portfolio focuses on higher education, private equity and hedge funds, systemic risk and consumer issues.

Alexis spent seven years working in technology on Wall Street. She worked in both the cash equity and equity derivatives spaces. Her focus ranged from the development of client-facing, realtime cash trading systems to creating proprietary software for equity option pricing and volatility surface modeling.

Alexis wrote Learning CSS3 Animations, and co-authored HTML5 & CSS3 for The Real World by Sitepoint.

Alexis has also taught dozens of classes and hundreds of students with Girl Develop It, a group that conducts low-cost programming classes where women can learn in a non-intimidating environment.

Alexis has contributed to The Nation, The Guardian, The Washington Post and the American Prospect. She also was a contributor to's Bull Market collection and to Yes! Magazine.

Though no longer active with the group, Alexis was a co-author of Occupy the SEC's 325-page comment letter to the financial regulators urging them towards a strong Volcker Rule.
